Key Information:

  • A wide selection of quality books have been purchased for this class this year and your child is encouraged to take home a book every day. Each time you sign to show your child has read at home, they will receive a marble towards their team jar. The team with the most marbles at the end of the week will be crown team of the week!
  • Homework will be set on Friday and due in the following Friday unless stated otherwise on the homework (A longer time will be set for projects)

  • In your child’s homework diary, they will have a green stamp at the end of each day to show they are following our school’s ‘Good to be Green’ behaviour policy. If they do not get a green stamp it is because they have not ended the day on a green card or have received a red card during the day. Hello Year Four!

Welcome to another week of home learning! We are nearly at the end of the school year. It has been a truly difficult time but you have impressed and amazed us with the depth of your learning over the past few months. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

English- A lighthearted start to this week. We are looking at some really cheesy jokes (my favourite kind!) Year 4 Week 16 Day 1

Day 2-Another fun day. You need someone to work with for this. If nobody is available right now, why not come back to this lesson later on?

Monday 6th July– Read a classic Greek myth, Icarus; make responses to the text. Sequence and retell the story orally.

History- Last week, we learned about pyramids which was where the Egyptians buried their dead. Archaeologists can tell who is buried in the tomb and what time period it came from by looking for a cartouche. A cartouche is a name plate which only the most important Egyptian citizens had.

Science-Now we have finished our electricity learning. Let’s learn about digestion. I hope you enjoyed trying the practical demonstrations to help you understand digestion.
