May half term

May 26, 2017

I hope that you all have a lovely half term The children have worked very hard this half term and have really impressed me with their hard working ethic! I can’t believe that we now only have just a half term left! This school year seems to have flown by.

Half term homework is for the children to continue using mathletics, reading, they have some maths shape homework and also some phonics homework to prepare them for the phonics screening test in June.

The next half term is going to be a busy one and always seems to go fast. See below some dates for your diary of events that are going to be taking place at school during the next half term.

Other Information

Our caterpillars finally changed into butterflies when we arrived at school on Monday morning. We were all extremely excited. We released them on Tuesday afternoon when the sun was shining as butterflies can only fly when it’s warm and sunny.

Just a reminder that the breakfast before school is meant to be eaten and finished before 8.50 as the last few weeks there have been children bringing the breakfast into the classroom which means that they then leave the cup in the classroom and there have been a few accidents with the full cups of breakfast!

Friday (26th) we are breaking up at normal time for half term and on Friday those children who have finished the day on green and not received a red card are going to be watching a film with year 2 as a reward for being green.

Take a look at Amira-Lee and Lee’s joint poem from our English session this week, they’ve tried really hard to follow a given structure and use rhyming words.

Jump and Jiggle

Tigers jump,

Caterpillars bump,

Frogs leap,

Mice creep,

Snakes wriggle,

Lions walk,

Kittens stalk,

Horses trot,

Rabbits hop,

Seagulls slide,

Turtles glide.
