Hungerford1

Welcome to Hungerford Bridge Class.

Class teacher: Miss Agyemang

Teaching assistant: Ms Jones

Week beginning 12th March 2018

March 8, 2018

Thank you to those of you who kindly contributed towards theatre tickets for Mrs Thambi and I. Mrs Thambi was unable to make the show due to family commitments so we took Miss Carr along with us. The year 2 team had a fantastic evening and really enjoyed the show! It was such a lovely thought and we really appreciate it.

Writing

We began writing our individual non-chronological reports last week and will be completing our writing on Monday. The children will be given an opportunity to edit and improve their writing too.

Later in the week we will be using our literacy sessions to complete a short reading paper in preparation for the SATs which are quickly approaching.

Here are some key things that we try to remind the children of:

  • Read the question properly. What is it asking you to do? Do you have to match , sequence, tick?
  • Do not use your own knowledge to answer the questions. The answer is in the text.
  • Read the text at least once. If you need to, read it again.
  • The answer is always in the text.
  • Don’t panic!

We will go through the paper as a whole class after.
