Thank you for coming to our introductory meeting last week. It was wonderful to see so many of you there. For those parents who were unable to attend, please check your child’s bookbag for notes from our meeting. Also all parents will have received a copy of our curriculum overview for Autumn Term 1 which explains the learning focus for this half term.

On Friday your child received their yellow reading diary and a book from the class library to take home. Please note that this book is for you to read to your child. Please make a note in the diary about how your child enjoyed the story. Please only send in the library book and reading diary on your child’s reading day (see inside front cover for which day your child will change their reading books). Please leave these books in their bookbag.

From Monday 7th October your child will receive a colour banded reading scheme book as well as a library book.

Please don’t forget to come to our Phonics and Reading workshop for parents on Wednesday 2nd October. You can choose to attend either ONE of the two sessions: 9.00-10.30 or 2.00-3.30. This workshop will focus on how your child will learn to read and form letters and how you can support your child with reading at home.

Please help your child settle into their school routine by being prompt in the morning and at collection time. Please be reminded that school starts at 8.50am and finishes at 3.30pm.

Kind regards,

Reception Team [/dropshadowbox]
