What are we learning this week?

Maths – This week we will be multiplying and dividing by 11 and 12 and multiplying 3 numbers.

English – We will be using a poem For Forest by Grace Nichols to start our term’s topic on Rainforest and Deforestation, comparing and contrasting other poems around the same theme.

Welcome back in our first week of the Spring term! The year four team would like to say a huge thank you for all our wonderful Christmas cards and gifts and sincerely hope you have all had an enjoyable couple of weeks.

 

What are we learning this week?

Maths – Recapping and completing our learning about perimeter and area of rectilinear shapes.

Week commencing 17th December

Wow! The end of the first term already! It has been such an amazing start to the year and everybody has worked so hard and achieved so much! A break is well deserved!

English- We will be using a video clip to inspire our writing in English this week. We will be continuing to write and edit our narrative, practising all of our writing skills we have used so far (fronted adverbial phrases, strong openings, descriptive language, paragraphing etc) and learning to include expanded noun phrases in our work as well. Other news- We have our cinema trip on Wednesday 14th November. It is in school time and we will back at school for lunch. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the cinema trip on Friday 16th November has been cancelled.
