THIS WEEK’S LEARNING

LITERACY:

  • Core Text: Marvelous me, Inside and Out by Lisa Bullard
  • Other Focus Text(s): Colors of Us by Karen Katz
  • Phonics: To learn a new letter sound each day as follows: /b/ /f/ /e/ /l/ /h/ Please check your child’s bookbag each day for new letter formation practise sheet. Please check Google Classroom for  how to hand in completed homework.

MATHS:

  • Number sense: To explore and show their understanding of number through rhymes, songs, stories and use of  counting objects. This week we will also begin to introduce taught maths sessions in which we will explore subitising.

EAD: To explore colour mixing and creating different shades using paint and other sensory experiences. We will be completing an artist study of Frida Kahlo and beginning to create our own self-portraits.

CAL: To talk about ourselves and our features and what makes us unique eg eye colour, hair length. We will discuss what makes us different and similar to others.

PE: To develop spatial awareness: to listen and observe and show an awareness of a safe space for themselves and others

PSED: To talk about the different types of feelings people may experience and how these can be recognised by looking at changes in facial features

UW: To take notice of changes in the environment and how this affects us. eg seasonal cahnge – how is the weather changing, how this makes us feel?, how will we change how we dress?

PE: To develop spatial awareness: to listen and observe and show an awareness of a safe space for themselves and others
