Well done to everyone who made it in every day last week. Please keep an eye out for new parents evening times, for those that were due to take place last Thursday. Congratulations to London Bridge Class who won the “Best participation award” for the NSPCC sponsored event.

Maths:
We shall continuing metric and imperial units of measurement as well as being able to: identify, describe and represent a shape following a translation or reflection.

English:
Spag: subordination
I can use T4W to explore a character’s personality.
I can use a cartoon to plan narrating a scene.
I can use various narrative devices to imitate a scene.
I can edit and improve my narration.
I can create an “I am-poem” to explore a character’s feelings and actions.

French:
We shall be starting our new unit in French, looking at animals!

PE:
Your children will have taken a letter home on Thursday 22nd February, detailing which swimming group that they are in. Below is a reminder of the key dates and swimming kit that they will need.

Group A Tuesday 27th February-Tuesday 27th March
Group B Tuesday 17th April-Tuesday 22nd May (No swimming on the 15th May)
Group C Tuesday 5th June – Tuesday 3rd July

Please can you make sure that they bring a swimming costume (preferably NOT a bikini for girls and NOT long shorts for boys), towel and, if they have long hair, a swimming hat all in a bag that can be easily identifiable. Children will be taught how to swim by 2 qualified swimming instructors including a teacher from Whitgift school and no prior knowledge of how to swim is needed. Children will be assessed the first week and then put into suitable groups with no child entering the deep end unless they can swim a length unaided. A trained lifeguard will also be present.
Children who are not going swimming during this time will still have a PE lesson. All children will continue to have their Thursday PE lesson.

Computing:
We shall be focusing on how to keep ourselves safe on the Internet and who we can talk to if a problem arises.

Music:
We shall be continuing our Soundstart lessons with Mr Regan.

RE:
We shall begin to look at Holy Week, in preparation for Easter.
