Week Beginning 30th October 2017

Children in Waterloo Bridge Class worked hard during Autumn 1 and I am looking forward to Autumn 2! Thank you to Kate who came in and did an interesting talk on E-safety during the last week of the half term. In Autumn 2 we will continue with out topic Scavengers and Settlers and will move on to learning about the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Our science topic is Light and Shadow. Our learning this week will be as follows;

  • In mathematics we will learn to recognise angles as a property of shape or description of turn and to identify whether angles are greater than  or less than a right angle.
  • In English we will study a short film entitled For the Birds. We will work toward creating a storyboard.
  • In Science we will complete our investigations on magnets before moving on to work on Light and Shadows.
  • In Topic time we will learn about the early settlement at Skara Brae.
  • In RE we will learn that Hindus believe in one god who has many forms.
  • In PE we will continue with our keep fit work and develop our skills in gymnastics.

I would like to remind parents that jewellery should not be worn for school. For safety reasons, this is particularly important on PE days.

Don’t forget we will be visiting the cinema to see the film trolls on Monday 13th November.
