Week beginning 22nd January

In Waterloo Bridge Class this week our learning will be as follows;

In mathematics we will continue our work on column subtraction. We will learn to estimate and to check our addition and subtraction calculations using the inverse operations.
In English we will be beginning work on stories from other cultures. We will look at Magic Dogs of the Volcanoes by Manlio Argueta and will start by making predictions about what will happen in the story. We will explore the story using drama.
In science we will learn to group and identify rocks.
In topic time we will make jigsaw puzzles to help us to understand tectonic plates.

On Friday we will be doing our number star challenges. All children know what number star they are working on and they have taken home a sheet giving information about what is covered in each star. Maths homework is set regularly on mathletics. Please ask your child to check if there is work outstanding.
