LITERACY:
Book Focus: Busy People: Firefighters
This beautifully illustrated book about the life of Frank the Firefighter and his crew and the important jobs they do will prepare the children for what they will see on the visit this week to the Croydon Fire station.
GROUP PHONICS: Group Phonics will continue this week with each group focusing on reviewing the sounds learnt and decoding new words as well learning how to spell and write these words.
MATHS:
This week’s focus is:
• to learn to recognise 2D and 3D shapes in the environment by learning about their properties
• to use mathematical language to name and describe 2D and 3D shape

READING BOOKS: Please continue to send in reading books and diaries on group days
KEY WORD LISTS: Please only send in word lists if your child is ready to be tested. Please note that there isn’t any rush for your child to race through the lists. It is more important that they have secure recognition of these words before moving onto the next list. [/dropshadowbox]
