Week Beginning 10th September, 2018

A warm welcome to Year 1 !

Hope you all had a lovely Summer break.  All the children have settled in happily. Currently, Year 1 is having a transition phase and children are working in a similar routine to Reception but with focused learning during Carpet sessions as well as adult focused small group sessions. We are working using the National Curriculum within an Early Years free flow routine.

A small request to all parents..

Please can all your child’s uniform and all belongings be clearly labelled with their name.

If your child is being collected by a different adult please inform the class teacher or let the office know.

Thank you.

This week…

 Science / English

We will be naming body parts as well as labelling them ( head, neck,  arms,  elbow, legs, knees, face, ears, eyes, hair, mouth, teeth). Children will be singing action songs and rhymes. Check out the link below.

Mathematics

Children will continue to recognise numbers to 20 and extend to 100. They will also write numbers as well as count objects. We will use ten frames to help them with their learning.

PSHE

We will continue to learn about the 5C’s – care, commitment, courtesy, co-operation, consideration. Children are also learning about the Class Charter and developing their understanding of rights and responsibilities. The three main rights we focus on are ‘Right to play’, ‘Right to stay safe and healthy’ and ‘Right to learn’.
