READING AT HOME

Please continue to write a comment in your child’s yellow reading diary and let us know how they are getting on with their reading at home.

Please note that we now change reading books and check word lists on specific days for each group. If your child is not in school on the day specified, we will change their books and check their word list on the day they return. Please ensure that your child’s reading books, yellow diary and word lists are in their book bags on these days:

Monday – Red group

Tuesday – Orange group

Wednesday – Yellow group

Thursday – Green group

Friday – Blue group

PHONICS:

Please continue to practise sound recognition with your child using the video links provided in previous blogs. Encourage them to apply their phonic knowledge every time you read or write with them.

MATHS:

We will continue to review counting forward and back to 20 and beyond. This week the concepts of addition and subtraction will be presented through practical challenges in the continuous provision environment. The children will be encouraged to use a range of resources to solve problems related to addition and subtraction.
