  • To use multiplication to calculate the perimeter of 2D shapes.
  • To use division and subtraction to calculate missing sides given the perimeter.
  • To explore and calculate using the perimeter in regular polygons.
  • To understand and explore area as the measurement of the surface of a flat item (space within a face of a 2D shape).
  • To use a grid/squares to find the perimeter of different 2D shapes (incl. complex and irregular).
