Our Learning This Week:

Maths-We will be continuing our place value work by ordering and comparing numbers to four digits as well as estimating, working out and drawing numbers on a number line to 10,000. We will also be partitioning 4 digit numbers in different ways to explore our understanding for example 4,567 can be partitioned as 4000+500+60+7 but also 4000+56 tens+7 ones.

Literacy-The class enjoyed starting our new narrative unit-Robin Hood on Friday. We will be focusing on fronted adverbial phrases in our writing this week and reading the book by Marcia Williams- The Adventures of Robin Hood.

 

 

 

Science-We will be continuing our topic on teeth and the digestive system. This week we will be identifying and naming the important parts of the human digestive system. Topic-We will be continuing our topic on Anglo-Saxons and Vikings by looking at the Anglo-saxon kingdoms and the origins of the Anglo-Saxons.

Other information

Crazy chickens group won our marble competition. Merit cards were given to Mariah, Bianca, Ame for their support for helping others read and the whole class for showing a positive and hardworking attitude to starting year 4.  Well done!
