Autism Awareness 1

It is common for children on the Autistic Spectrum to have sensory needs. Some of these needs may restrict the types of food they eat every day.

This visual aims to illustrate what the eating experience may be like for a child on the spectrum and how it relates to the issues of anxiety, control and risk management.

In some children the anxiety is so high that it can develop into an eating disorder called ARFID.
