Year Four Week Beginning 16th September 2019

Welcome to Year 4!
Thank you for allowing us to get to know your children and understanding that, due to our limited space and lessons starting at 8.50, we cannot allow parents and carers to enter the huts before or after school. Please leave your children at the end of the ramp behind the chain and any urgent messages, such as a different person picking your child up or illness, need to be delivered via the office or a written note. Queries about homework can be written in the homework diary which is checked daily by an adult or on a letter until the books arrive.
Our learning this week;
Maths-We will be working on place value of up to four digit numbers, comparing and ordering 4 digit numbers.
English-We will be using video stimuli to explore a character’s feelings about starting school. This will link to our PSHE focus.
Science-We will begin our unit on states of matter. Please let your teacher know, via a letter or note in the diary if your child has a latex sensitivity as we will be using balloons.
Topic- We will begin our unit on Anglo-Saxons and Vikings by finding out what life was like in Britain 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 years ago.
PE-For the rest of the term P.E will take place on  Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children will be learning invasion games and gymfit circuits this term.
PSHE/Wellbeing-The whole school will be introducing zones of regulation. If you would like to find out more see the link below
