[dropshadowbox align=”none” effect=”lifted-both” width=”auto” height=”” background_color=”#f6f134″ border_width=”1″ border_color=”#dddddd” ]Eid Mubarak to those families who are celebrating. We hope that all families also enjoy the bank holiday Monday. It is half term this week so we are not setting daily maths and English learning. However we have put together some activities. Reading

It is great to see that so many children have been able to keep up with their reading. We have now set up accounts for the children on the Rising Stars website. This means we can access suitable leveled books for each child from the Reading Planet online library. There are comprehension questions that the children can answer at the end of each week and there are quizzes which the children can complete and gain awards. The child should use their first name as their log-in and their class name as their password (either Blackfriars or Waterloo).  They will need the centre ID 211526. The website address is;

Mathematics

The children have done great work on multiplication and division this week and should keep learning their times tables. The following websites will be useful;

https://login.mathletics.com/

https://ttrockstars.com/

https://play.numbots.com/#/

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

The children should all have passwords for the mathletics and  times tables rockstars sites. They can use their times tables rockstars site to access the numbots site.

Topic Work

After half term our topic is Shaping up. We will learn about our bodies and about how to keep fit. We will also learn about the basketball player Michael Jordan.  Over the holiday children can find out about a sportsperson of their choice. They can then draw, paint or write sentences about their sportsperson or even make a model of them.

Science

Keep taking care of your plant and recording progress in your diary. Use the video lesson below to find out about the life cycle of a plant.

Children may enjoy following this lesson from Croydon Music Service.

We miss all the children very much but are pleased that we have seen examples of some great home learning. Keep up the good work.[/dropshadowbox]
