English

At Howard Primary School we have adopted The Power of Reading scheme for literacy. We will focus our literacy work on a core text. The text we are working on is currently a secret and slowly we will reveal the title and the book to the children.

This week we will be looking at seaside/beach. Children will explore using their senses – what they can see, feel, smell, hear. We will listen to Benjamin Britten’s ‘Four Sea interludes’.

They will write about their feelings about the sea – when it is calm / stormy.

Children will talk about what other objects they find on the beach and will be given a special pebble to look after and write about.
