[dropshadowbox align="none" effect="lifted-both" width="auto" height="" background_color="#a8f6e0" border_width="1" border_color="#dddddd" ]Dear Reception Parents

We hope you are well and have now settled into your own steady routine for home learning that works for you and your family.

If you have any questions, please get in touch using the email address sent via text message to your phone last week. I will send a further reminder later today.

If you would like your child to continue with their weekly word lists, please respond via the email provided, with your child’s name and last word list they were on. Once I receive your email, word lists will be sent out on a weekly basis on your child’s usual group reading day.

You will also shortly be receiving further information about a sharing platform called Class Dojo which the older children now have access to. This will allow you to share some of the amazing learning your children are doing. Thank you for your patience as we explore new technology to improve our interaction with you and your children during this incredibly challenging period for us all.

Please see below for a suggested timetable of activities for this week. Please remember that there is no expectation for your child to complete all activities as we understand the challenging circumstances you may be facing during this time. It is more important that your children feel safe and secure first. We understand that this may be a very confusing time for them. So if you notice any changes in their behaviour over the coming weeks, please focus more on reassuring and comforting them.

If you would like to follow a set routine you are welcome to use the suggested timetable attached as a guide for the length of time to spend on the suggested activities. For links to suggested activities, please scroll down the page or scroll further down to access previous blog posts.

Wishing you well for the week ahead

Kind regards

Reception Team [/dropshadowbox]

Watch a daily speed sounds lesson with Ruth Miskin Phonics Homelearning

SET 2 sounds: Please note that your child will have learnt an alternate spelling of some of the Speed sounds. Please explain that what they are seeing is a different way to spell the same sound or as we would say  ” same sound, different spelling”

We have learnt the following alternate graphemes first instead of the one being shown in the video:

/ai/ snail in the rain  instead of /ay/ may I play

/oa/ goat in a boat instead of /ow/ blow the snow

/ur/ nurse with a purse instead of /ir/ whirl and twirl

/ow/ brown cow instead of /ou/ shout it out

/oi/ spoil the boy instead of /oy/ toy for a boy

The alternate graphemes can we watched in Set 3 sounds
